On behalf of Iyàlódè [e-yah-low-day] Productions, producers of the WOCAF Festival Atlanta, we would like to thank you for attending the 6th annual Women of Color Arts & Film Festival Atlanta .

Despite the tight budget contraints, we still managed to host yet another exciting festival. Our turnout was great again this year and our supporters were, as always, very moved by our determination to continue to promote and exhibit the artistic creations by and/or about Women of Color.

WOCAF 2010 Annouces Schedule of Events

In celebration of Women’s History Month Iyàlódè (e-yah-lo-day) Productions kicks off its 6th Annual WOCAF Festival, with a lineup of programs from Thursday, March 25, 2010 – Saturday, March 27, 2010 The program of events will include a lecture/discussion segment, film screenings of over fifteen films by and/or about women of color, Q & A with filmmakers and a visual arts exhibition. The music component of the festival has been postponed until later on this year.

Over the years, WOCAF has presented its film festival and visual arts exhibition in collaboration with The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture & History (AARL) and this year it has expanded its community outreach to include film screenings at The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum (JCL).

The three day festival will kick off on Thursday March 25, 7:00pm to 9:00pm at AARL, 101 Auburn Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30303, with a lecture/discussion entitled “From Baker to Beyonce and Sembene Ousmane’s Black Girl: Exploring black female sexuality in the global imagination” with panelists from the community. AARL will have on display an exhibition of Josephine Baker throughout the months of March and April. The Visual Arts Exhibition and all screenings are free and open to the public.

Iyàlódè Productions in Collaboration with The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture & History and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum hosts the 6th WOCAF Festival in Atlanta, GA March 25 – 27 2010.
